Governor Plans Native American Summit

None by KCPW

(KCPW News) Governor Jon Huntsman, Junior has called an American Indian Summit to bring together members of Utah's seven Native American tribes. A Governor's spokesman says the meeting will be on August 30th and 31st, and will include panel discussions and lectures on improving education, economic development and tribal coordination on Utah's reservations.

The announcement comes on the heels of Huntsman's visit to the Navajo Nation Tribal Headquarters on the Utah/Arizona border this week. It is believed to be the first such visit by a Utah Governor.
