Hatch Ignores Invitation to Debate Challengers

(KCPW News) Democratic Senate candidate Pete Ashdown has organized a town hall debate for his opponents at the City Library tomorrow morning. All of the candidates have agreed to participate, except for incumbent Republican Senator Orrin Hatch.

Speaking on KCPW's Midday Metro, Hatch said he has quote "never refused a debate" in his life. Ashdown says that's technically true in tomorrow's gathering. Hatch's campaign simply did not respond to his request. The debate will run for two hours beginning at 10:30 tomorrow morning in the auditorium of the Salt Lake City Main Library. The public is welcome to ask questions, and Ashdown plans to post audio of the debate on his website.
