As the Executive Director of the Utah Education Assoc., I hear every day the stories of teachers and parents and community members about the needs of our public schools and their desire to provide the highest quality education to every student. They understand that the futures of individual students and the strength of Utah's economy depend on it.
This is the greatest moment of opportunity the state has had in a long while to meet the challenge of providing the necessary resources ( people, materials and facilities) to reach the level of school quality they claim to want.
It's unfathomable that given the ability to do this, the willingness is lacking.
