Half of Skiers Choose Salt Lake County Hotels

(KCPW News) Half of all skiers and snowboarders who come to Utah make Salt Lake County hotels their vacation base. That's up from 43 percent back in 2003, according to a new report from Ski Utah.

Scott Beck of the Salt Lake County Convention and Visitors Bureau attributes the shift to more variety and lower room prices along the Wasatch Front. A spokesperson for Ski Utah says three consecutive record years for Utah's ski industry mean there's simply more tourism business to go around.
