Drug Discount Cards Coming to Utah County

(KCPW News) Utah County residents will soon be able to get a free card that will save them an average of 20-percent on prescription drugs. The program is offered by the National Association of Counties.

A Utah County Health Department spokesman says it's meant to help those without insurance, but anyone can get a free card and then ask their pharmacist which will offer the best price. The program requires no membership fee or enrollment.

More than 480 counties are participating in the drug card program nationwide, including Weber, Davis, Cache and Summit counties in Utah. In a few weeks, Utah County residents will be able to get a drug discount cards from the Utah County Health Department and participating pharmacies.
