Vote Early Now, Avoid Lines on Nov. 7th

None by KCPW

(KCPW News) Come November 7th, Salt Lake County voters are likely to face long, long lines at the polls. With a 50-percent expected turnout and far fewer machines than in previous elections, County Clerk Sherrie Swensen says early voting is the way to go:

"With the new electronic equipment people may take a little longer to use it because it's the first go-round for many people," says Swensen. "So we're hoping to defer some of the crowd on election day to this early voting."

Swensen says voters are also likely to be slower because the electronic machines allow you to check and change your choices before casting the ballot. All registered voters can now cast a ballot at the Clerk's office during business hours. Beginning October 24th, several satellite early voting locations will be available.
