Upping Enforcement for Mortgage Fraud

None by KCPW

(KCPW News) Utah's mortgage fraud rates are second highest in the nation, but one state lawmaker says it's not the laws but the enforcement that needs fixing. Representative Paul Ray is sponsoring a measure to add a full-time prosecutor and two investigators to the state's real estate division.

The announcement also unseats Provo's brief stint as the second largest city in Utah by just a few thousand people. West Valley City officials say they challenged the estimate in order secure more federal funding and have accurate figures for transportation and growth plans The largest city in Utah, of course, is its capital - Salt Lake City.
