Ober Named Enviro Policy Coordinator in SL County

(KCPW News 10/18/2006) Ann Ober has been named to the newly-created position of Environmental Policy Coordinator by Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon.

Ober is currently Director of Community Relations and Diversity Affairs in the Mayor's Office. Over the past 18 months, Ober has been a key player in a number of environmental initiatives for the County including the installation of Solar Panels at the Salt Palace, the Blue Sky County Employee Challenge, creation of the landscaping ordinance before the Council in November, the creation of the Government Center Plaza water-wise gardens and several other internal and external projects.

Corroon says the county will lead by example, including the protection of water quality in the Jordan River and - if the $48 million Proposition 2 passes at the polls November 7th - the continued preservation of open space.
