Freeways and City Streets Make List of Most Congested

None by KCPW

(KCPW News) Chokepoints on I-15 all along the Wasatch Front make the list of top 25 most congested routes in Utah. But at least half of the roads on the list compiled by the Washington-based nonprofit group TRIP are smaller roads through towns and cities.

"Often we see in fast growth areas a 2-lane road suddenly becomes a commuter road, heavily congested with 20,000 vehicles a day," says Frank Moretti, Director of Policy and Research at TRIP.

The report lists state roads in Springville, Spanish Fork and Lehi among the top congested roads in the state. The number one most congested route is 1-15 from 16th North in Orem to University Parkway. Moretti estimates Utah commuters spend up to $1,275 dollars a year in wasted time and fuel sitting in traffic.

I'm from California, L.A area. It's really funny to read about you're so-called traffic. When it takes you 2 hours EVERY DAY to travel 40 miles like it does in CA, then you can complain. I can make it from Springville to Salt Lake in less than an hour and it's only about 50 miles! Now lets talk about this "Snow" thing... : )
