Prize-winning historian Jill Lepore, author of New York Burning: Liberty, Slavery and Conspiracy in Eighteenth Century Manhattan. Lepore is a professor of history at Harvard University. Lepore will appear at the Great Salt Lake Book Festival Saturday, Oct. 28, 3:30 pm in the Salt Lake City Main Library Auditorium.

Dave Sim and Gerhard, internationally recognized graphic novelists whose masterpiece is Cerebus, one of the first graphic novels ever produced. Their work has raised the industry standard for what a graphic novel can accomplish. Sim and Gerhard will appear at the Great Salt Lake Book Festival today, 4 pm-6 pm in the Salt Lake City Main Library Auditorium with the Art Exhibit Stroll, 6-7 pm in the Lower Urban Room.

Plus catheters-to-go: taking pain out of orthopaedic surgery. Guests included Jeff Swenson, Medical Director of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center, registered nurse and US Ski Team associate coach Kirk Benson, and patient Cathy Groos about the pros and cons of this new delivery method for pain medication.
