Early Voting And Exit Polls
None by KCPW

As voters swarm to the polls to cast their ballots before Election Day, local political observers are wondering what early voting could do to exit polling. Pollster Dan Jones says he's taking exit polls at some of the early voting locations, because he needs to know what part of the population makes up those early voters.
More than 6,000 people have voted early so far this election cycle - and officials expect more to take advantage to avoid expected lines on November 7th. Jones says he does not expect the number of early voters to skew his exit poll numbers, because he's only doing the exit polling in Salt Lake County.
Jones adds that no matter what he finds from the early voting, he will not release any numbers until after the polls close.

I think that early voting does affect the results of exit polls. It is likely that many early voters are more interested in politics, and this has likely driven them to research candidates and issues so that they feel comfortable enough to cast their ballot prior to Election Day.
