Democrat Says His Record Speaks Volumes
(KCPW News 10/31/06) His Republican challenger earned the endorsement of the state's largest daily newspaper, and that stings, says Democrat Jim Bradley, the Salt Lake County Councilman who wants to keep his At-Large seat for another six-year term:
"Well, I took that very personally, that hurt my feelings - I have to say that because I've worked extremely hard on a number of issues, particularly in terms of making government work for people."
The Salt Lake Tribune claims former Taylorsville mayor Janice Auger has a better record of getting things done while holding elected office. Bradley says his record speaks for itself:
"I have a record that I'm very proud of in terms of protecting the environment, increasing open space, putting recreation facilities throughout this valley, particularly supportive of the arts. I built the Salt Palace, when I came in I was in charge of that, took down the old Accord Arena, built the new Salt Palace, bought the property for the Rose Wagner [Center] and pulled the trigger to build it - I mean, I have a long, long record."
In the end, Bradley says, endorsements won't decide the election. To hear more from Jim Bradley, you can listen online or download a podcast of the full Midday Metro interview from our webpage.
