Help for Spanish-Speaking Voters at Polls
None by KCPW
(KCPW News) Spanish-speaking voters will have translation help at the polls tomorrow, thanks to a group of volunteers organized by the Utah Hispanic Democratic Caucus.According to the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and Utah election law, voters who are unable to read or write the English language can bring a person to assist them, as long as that person is not their employer or union representative.
Utah Hispanic Democratic Caucus chair Tony Yapias says the people calling to request a translator are primarily new U.S. citizens anxious about voting for the first time. He adds that many are intent on voting after participating in immigration rallies earlier this year.
Yapias has been announcing the translation service in local Spanish-language media, and so far a dozen people have called to secure assistance on Election Day.
To request a translator or volunteer to help Spanish-speaking voters, contact Yapias at 577-3200.

You should be able to speak English and provide citizenship papers to vote.
Otherwise illegal aliens will be voting as was found during the driver license audit of 2005.

Alex,
Aside from you being ignorant and half witted the U.S. Voting Rights Act provides any citizen who is limited english speaker the right to have someone else assist them.

The voting audit was inconclusive, stating that 7-14 people who may not have been citizens may have voted out of over 1 million voters statewide. Undocumented people don't want to draw attention to themselves by filling out a false voter registration form and committing voter fraud.
