(KCPW News) Low-income advocates in Utah have begun their push to get the newly-elected State Legislature behind three steps they say will bring dignity to the poor:"Each issue has been before the state legislature for many years, and we think they will pass," says Tim Funk, spokesperson for Crossroads Urban Center.
Low-income advocates will ask lawmakers this coming session to raise the state minimum wage to $7.25 an hour, remove the remaining 2 and three quarters percent from the state's sales tax on food and allocate five million dollars a year to make dental and vision coverage a permanent part of Medicaid services.
