(KCPW News) All of Utah's incumbent congressmen retained their seats, leaving two Democratic newcomers to concede late last night. In the third congressional district, Democrat Christian Burridge got 32 percent of the vote to incumbent Republican Chris Cannon's 58 percent."It is time for us to say we democrats will no longer be isolated," says Burridge. "We will no longer be marginalized. We will stand up and fight now matter how many times it takes."
In the first congressional district, Democrat Steve Olsen told his party that eventhough he lost the race, his booklet titled "Why Most Utahns are Democrats and Just Don't Know it Yet" made a difference:
"I have dozens and dozens of stories where people have read our little book and said 'You know, you've nailed it. I'm going to vote democtratic this year,'" says Olsen. "I even had one guy email me and say that he'd sworn off listening to Sean Hannity."
In the final tally, Republican Rob Bishop took 63 percent of the vote over Olsen's 32 percent.
