(KCPW News) The ACLU of Utah has chosen former University of Utah attorney Karen McCreary to replace outgoing executive director Dani Eyer.

"McCreary brings a real enthusiasm for civil rights, individual rights, and has a life history of being involved in those issues," says Sue Marquardt, President of the ACLU of Utah and chair of the search committee, which received an astonishing 52 applications for the position.

Karen McCreary worked for more than a dozen years as associate general counsel for the University of Utah. She has also worked as general counsel for the Western Governors University and is a well-respected community volunteer.
