"Still Time" for Fourth District in Utah

None by KCPW

(KCPW News) There's still time to hold a special session and approve boundaries for a possible Fourth Congressional District, according to Governor's Spokesman Mike Mower. But it will take full support from the State Legislature:

"We can't do this alone," says Mower. "It takes the work of the Legislature to put together the map that would define the districts and that Congress would look to to see how the district make-up would be."

Governor Jon Huntsman Junior has met with legislative leaders and expects lawmakers will discuss the re-districting plans during their caucus meetings today. Mower says it's likely - based on indications from Congress - the House of
Representatives will consider the bill in early December.

Governor Huntsman has promised to call a special session and have a map of how the new fourth district would look in time for that debate in Washington.
