"If Your Wipers Are On, Your Lights Should Be Too"
None by KCPW
(KCPW News) If you're using your windshield wipers, you should have your lights on too, according to some motor safety advocates. That's the gist of a new law being proposed by 16-year old Chloe Dauwalder, who's had her driver license for less than a year. She's convinced her legislator to sponsor the measure as part of her effort to get the Girl Scouts Gold Award.Dauwalder is a Winter Olympic athlete-in-training and came up with the idea for the new law during her commute from Utah County to Park City several times a week. A similar rule already exists in code, but a committee lawmakers gave her proposal preliminary approval this week.

I am happy to hear about a return to a concept that was a "rule of thumb" about 25 years ago, or so. That was well before the days of automatic headlights.

This has to be a GREAT THING for the people of Utah--Thank you CHLOE! She sounds like a very competent young woman and Girl Scout who would propose such a novel idea! I'm glad that she was perceptive enough to see a problem and to act upon it. Great JOB CHLOE!
