Foothill Nonprofits Band Together for Branding Effort

(KCPW News) With Temple Square, the symphony, opera, ballet and restaurants on every corner, downtown Salt Lake gets the bulk of attention from tourists. But a cluster of nonprofit venues along the city's foothills is oft overlooked. So they have banded together to brand themselves as the Foothill Cultural District under direction of Linda Hunt:"There is nothing better than Foothill Cultural District in terms of defining Utah's natural, cultural and fine arts history," says Hunt. "We think it's a prime opportunity for travellers to see and have a sense of what Utah is all about."
The Foothill Cultural District includes This is the Place Heritage Park, Red Butte Gardens, Utah's Hogle Zoo, the Utah Museum of Natural History, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts and the Fort Douglas Military Museum. Several of those groups are in the middle of major expansion efforts - which Hunt says is driving the branding effort.
The group is offering entrance coupons good through January and special discounts in their gift shops on December 9th. More information available at www.foothillcd.com.
