Downtown Biz District Seeks Renewal

None by KCPW

(KCPW News) The Salt Lake City Council tonight will consider re-approving the Central Business Improvement District, which is administered by the Downtown Alliance and pays for various extras like holiday street lighting and the farmer's market.

The Downtown Alliance raises about 800-thousand dollars a year through fees assessed to property owners in the Central Business Improvement District. No changes are being proposed to the district boundaries at this point. The city first created it in 1991 and the council must renew it every three years.
