Money is Now the Hurdle for "Adam Galvez Street"

None by KCPW

(KCPW News) With a unanimous vote, the Salt Lake City Council gave permission for a portion of 300 south to be renamed in honor of fallen Marine Corporal Adam Galvez. But the job is not yet done for the scout troop working on the project:

"The thing that's going to slow us down is money," says scoutmaster Michael Clara. "We need about $2,000 and we only have $600 right now."

Clara says residents on 3rd south between I-15 and Redwood Road are one-hundred percent supportive of the name change to honor Galvez. 15-year old Junior Cruz lives in Galvez's neighborhood and is renaming the street to earn his Eagle Scout Award. Donations for Adam Galvez street signs are being accepted online at www.healingfield.org.
