Two Bills are opened but have no Sponsor
(KCPW News) The Utah Rivers Council wants state lawmakers to push through legislation friendly to water conservation:"So what we want to do is increase the state's investment in water conservation and one of the things is [to] make sure that the water conservation within [the] Division of Water Resources gets increased funding which would allow them to expand their current programs that they are doing as well as enhance those programs and do them more effectively."
Mark Danenhauer of the UHC says the council would like also like a to see a grant fund created to reward cities for water conservation efforts, and new conservation requirements for state buildings. But so far the UHC hasn't been able to find a lawmaker willing to sponsor the bills:
"We currently don't have a sponsor for these. We have bill files opened on two of these. However, the representative who opened those doesn't want to carry them forward and so we are meeting with various legislators at this point in time hoping to get sponsors."
