Businesses Missing Out on Hispanic/Latino Customers

None by Eric Ray

(KCPW News) Advertising is designed to reach a specific target audience. However it seems that there is one audience, with a buying power of between four and five billion dollars, that isn't being effectively reached in Utah.

The firm Hispanic Marketing and Consulting - La Agency held its second annual national Hispanic/Latino marketing conference today in Salt Lake City. Sandra Plazas, Vice President of La Agency, says the goal is to teach American companies how to effectively target the Hispanic and Latino market.

Speakers discussed subjects such as how Hispanics spend their money, the average budgets of Hispanic families, and how Hispanics adapt to the American mainstream. According to Gladys Gonzalez, President of La Agency, companies need to learn that effective marketing to the Hispanic/Latino community "means more than simply translating ads and brouchures into Spanish."
