Mayor Anderson Proud of Falling Crime Rate
None by Eric Ray
(KCPW News) Violent crimes are down in Salt Lake City and Mayor Rocky Anderson showed pride in the fact during last night's State of the City Address. Anderson said the city had the lowest level of serious crimes in fourteen years, a decrease of eight percent from 2005 and 10.7 percent from 2004.Anderson says more progress should be made in 2007. An enhanced sentencing program will closely monitor and evaluate the compliance of domestic violence offenders who are at high risk of re-offending.
On top of that, Anderson said victims of domestic violence can receive all of their needed services at the Family Justice Center rather than needing to travel to several different locations.
