(KCPW News)"Disappointed, but not surprised," is the reaction from Utah lawmakers at news that Salt Lake County will not help fund a soccer stadium in Sandy. House Speaker Greg Curtis was a big champion of the stadium, but now says he's quote "lost the fight" and will let it drop.Lawmakers are considering making changes to the way Salt Lake County uses tourism, hotel and restaurant taxes. But Speaker Curtis insists it's not meant to punish the County.
State Senators say they still think ReAL could make a permanent home at Rice-Eccles Stadium and they would be willing to allow beer sales at soccer games if necessary. ReAL officials have rejected that plan and now say they will sell the team.
