House Reconsiders Gay Clubs Move
None by KCPW
(KCPW News) Several hours after passing a bill empowering school districts to ban gay clubs, the Utah House reconsidered. After 7 p.m. last night, the House recalled the bill from the Senate and chalked their decision up to confusion. It would have given a vote of confidence to school districts who ban any club they don't think meets their standards. It also requires a parent's approval before students can join a club, and it creates a lengthy process for starting new clubs.
A large number of House members think they should leave it to local school districts to make those rules and approved a bill to that effect. With the State PTA's support, Buttars orchestrated a return to his original intent. Last night's curve ball from the House will likely force the bill to a conference committee for negotiation.

I heard a bit of Buttars this morning on my way to work. He said something like - there are alot of uglies out there and this is one of them - so I gather that an adolesent teen who is struggling with the fact they are gay/lesbian does not have enough emotional and mental anguish to deal with - they now have our government offical calling them "an ugly". When they were handing out compassion for your fellow human being they certainly miss him altogether

Paul,
Just listen to yourself. What a disgusting human being. It's comments like that that make people want to support Buttars.

ah yes; tim. Let no one say the truth; let no one say what is honestly happening. let every law, let every thought, be circumsized of the reality of the sexuality. Funny; because that is the basic thing about being GAY- HELLO. So when things are revealed, just when everybody that is not gay just settles in to accept things "as they are" they find another world, and then another and then another. They will never be faced with the reality to deal with what is fact one time and one time only. Now I know how the blacks of the slavery must have felt- first freed - but no one told the conservatives when they just settled into accepting the idea(at that time Democrats) that they had minds- then when they wanted to exercise their mind to vote everything started up againwith non-acceptance -kkk; level by level. Arent you tired of fighting each level - like one finger at a time being revealed from behind the closet door? If not for yourself than for those that may commit the ultimate tragedy to themselves because of the daily persecution IN THEIR SCHOOLS?

Along with Kansas, Utah will only come kicking and screaming into the 21st century. I have had great sex with a number of Mormons over the years. So, I won't condemn anyone here. We will get to those cute boys whether or not a few bigots allow gay/straight alliance clubs. Your children will never be safe from the possibility of growing-up to be themselves.
