Park City Land Use Controversy

None by Bryan Schott

Affordable Housing Or Open Space?

(KCPW News)  A battle is brewing over a proposed affordable housing development in Park City. The city council there is struggling whether to build affordable housing on a city-owned parcel of land, or to keep the area as open space.

Some on the council say the land is more suited to open space than a residential development. Another objection is whether the parcel lends itself to family living as the land lies next to a busy stretch of road:

Ultimately, the council decided to focus on other affordable housing projects in the Park City area, and will return to this particular property later.
