Individuals Should Prep For Pandemic Flu

(KCPW News) Experts say Utahns should take it upon themselves to get ready for a pandemic flu outbreak because it will be more than the government alone can handle.

State Epidemiologist Dr. Robert Rolfs says planning ahead can lessen the severity of an outbreak. In case of a pandemic, people should have a communication plan in place with family members. They should also store up to three weeks worth of food and supplies.

Governor Jon Huntsman Junior will soon appoint an advisory committee to implement the recommendations he received yesterday from the Task Force for Pandemic Influenza Preparedness.
