Summum Faith Allowed To Display Aphorisms

P.G. and Duchesne May Remove 10 Commandments To Avoid Suit

(KCPW News) Visitors to Pleasant Grove's Pioneer Park may soon be able to view a monument of the Seven Aphorisms of the Summum faith alongside that of the Ten Commandments. The same might soon be said for a city park in Duchesne County.

A federal court of appeals has overturned the ruling of a U.S. District Judge, which blocked Summum's proposed monuments. Attorney Brian Barnard, who represents Summum, says he is pushing his clients to display their Seven Aphorism's in Pleasant Grove as soon as possible.

However, Barnard says he wouldn't be surprised if Pleasant Grove and Duchesne force an end to Summum's lawsuit by simply removing the Ten Commandments monuments from their parks. Salt Lake County and Ogden did the same during previous lawsuits.
