"This Is The Place Park" Drops Plans for Land Lease

Public outcry has prompted officials at This Is the Place Park to drop their plans to lease land for an office building. KCPW's Julie Rose reports:

 

This Is the Place Park has dropped plans to lease 12-acres of open space for an office building. The Park's Foundation Chair Ellis Ivory says public outcry prompted him to withdraw the proposal. Instead, he says the foundation will ask the mayors and councils of both Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County to pony up extra tourism tax dollars and open space funds to plug the 400-thousand dollar budget gap.
