That evening, perennial Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader speaks at an "alternative commencement" ceremony on the UVSC campus.
Ashley Sanders is one of the student organizers of the alternative commencement. Sanders tells KCPW's Bryan Schott how the idea of an altertnative commencement came about.

Why would you pick Ralph Nader? He took votes from Al Gore and helped get Cheney into office.

Because Ralph is correct and gave a superb speech! The violin part of the program was also excellent. And there were 16 candidates on the presidential ballot in 2000 in Florida. The votes from any ONE of the parties there would have given Gore the presidency. Even if they had done a recount Gore would be president. Why did the dems blame Nader? Because both dems and repubs are part of the corporatopoly. The two party tyranny. If the best man had won Ralph would be President. The podcast of the whole program is at the BYU alternative commencement website. It Googles.
