Utah's U.S. Attorney Focusing on Gun Dealers
None by Eric Ray
(KCPW News) If your business is selling guns without a federal firearms license - you will go to jail if you get caught. That is the message delivered today by U.S. Attorney Brett Tolman. In advance of tomorrow's opening of the Crossroads of the West Gun Show in Sandy, Tolman announced a crackdown on dealers today. He says the ultimate goal is to keep guns out of the hands of criminals, and an avenue for reaching that goal is shutting down the source of those firearms.
The crackdown is part of Utah Project Safe Neighborhoods. Dealing guns without a federal firearms license carries a sentence of up to five years in prison. Tolman says the investigation is not targeting private individuals who sell the occasional gun from a personal collection.
