Hogle Zoo Wants $65 Million Bond

None by Eric Ray

Money Would Be Used For Further Upgrades

(KCPW News) Utah's Hogle Zoo plans to ask Salt Lake County for a $65 million bond to build more animal exhibits and complete other upgrades. The County Council will discuss the bond next week.

Recently, the zoo has added new exhibits for their elephants and big cats. Future upgrades call for polar bear and African lion exhibits.

Zoo officials say they're willing to pay polling costs in order to make this year's election countywide and get the bond on the ballot. However that payment may not be necessary since the school-voucher referendum is already on the ballot.
