International Trade Growing In Utah

None by Eric Ray

(KCPW News) If a local business isn't competing overseas then those competitors could invade their backyard, according to Lew Cramer, President and CEO of the World Trade Center of Utah. Cramer says the WTC can provide information to local companies about what products are likely to succeed in specific international markets.

Venturing into international trade can be a scary proposition for many companies. Mark Brinkerhoff, Chief Financial Officer of Utah based Ultradent, says it's important to answer all the simple questions before going overseas. Knowing how to register and ship products, as well as knowing how to collect your profits, are all vital.

Utah's merchandise exports grew from $6.1 billion in 2005 to $6.7 billion in 2006, and the state ranked 32nd among the states in the value of merchandise exports.
