S.L. County Council May Condemn Land Needed For Magna Library
None by Eric Ray
(KCPW News) The Salt Lake County Council is likely to take another step forward tomorrow in the revitalization of Main Street in Magna by condemning a piece of land needed for construction of a new city library. The new library is set to be built on the land currently housing Magna's senior center, however the county also needs ownership of one parcel of privately owned property. County council member Jim Bradley says the landowner has been reluctant to sell the property, currently housing an old home that Bradley says is an "eyesore."
Bradley says it's in Magna's best interest to condemn the land and it's likely the County Council will vote to do so. The landowner will be paid a premium price for the land as well as relocation costs if necessary
