Anderson: Ignoring National Issues Shows "Dereliction of Leadership"

None by Eric Ray

(KCPW News) Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson is striking back at critics who say mayors should not speak out on national issues and instead should tend only to local issues.

Speaking on today's Midday Metro on KCPW, Anderson says the idea of a mayor not becoming active on national issues shows a quote - "dereliction of what leadership is all about." Anderson was quick to point out that, during his term as mayor, he has addressed important local issues in addition to branching out on national topics.
