Early Voting Catches On
None by KCPW
(KCPW News) The idea of early voting is catching on in Utah:"People are realizing the convenience of being able to vote prior to election day," says Salt Lake County Clerk Sherrie Swensen. "And so, the current numbers are about three times the total numbers we had in 2005 and 2003."
That's Salt Lake County Clerk Sherrie Swensen. As of Friday afternoon, 37-hundred people had cast their primary ballots either in Swensen's office or at city recorder offices holding elections. The figure also includes absentee ballots sent by mail. All of those early options help to reduce lines on Election Day, says Swensen.
Early voting continues until five tonight. All polling locations for municipal primary elections open tomorrow at 7.
