District 4 City Council Candidate Sounds Off

None by Eric Ray

(KCPW News) Decreasing the demand for drugs in Pioneer Park by going after the people supporting the criminal element is key to rescuing the park according to District Four Salt Lake City Council Candidate Luke Garrott. He says his plan is to make Pioneer Park a neighborhood park by giving residents a reason to congregate there.

On the subject of a skybridge in Salt Lake City, Garrott calls it "bad urban planning." He says the skybridge is wrong for the city because it's designed to keep people in the mall and off Main Street.

As for the bond to build new public safety facilities, Garrott says it's obvious an upgrade is in order but he would prefer a more flexible plan rather than the current all-or-nothing vote.

A full conversation with Garrott is available on the Midday Metro page.
