New Numbers Show State's Economy Still Expanding
More evidence today that Utah's economy is solidly in a boom phase. New numbers from the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the state has the 4th-fastest growing job market in the country at 4.2 percent from March of 2005 to March of this year - more than double the national average.
In fact, the numbers show the entire intermountain West job market is booming. The other states in the top-5 in growth are Nevada, Arizona, Idaho and Wyoming. An expert with the Utah Department of Workforce Services says the region's fast growth is primarily because of rapid population growth. However, Utah is unique as most of the population growth here is internal, while the other states are seeing in-migration.
Experts say every job sector in Utah is growing, with professional jobs and construction leading the way.

Bryan,
Did they break down the job growth by county per chance? I am the ED Director out here and we are averaging close to twice the State number and was looking for exact data.
Thanks,
Bill Johnson
