ACLU Investigating Ogden City Election Complaints

(KCPW News) The American Civil Liberties Union is investigating complaints of irregularities in the November 6th mayoral election in Ogden. Two formal complaints have been filed with the ACLU and Executive Director Karen McCleary says more information has come in since the story broke."We've since had several other people email us with comments and call us with information, so we've had additional people with their own grievances contact us," says McCleary.
The complaints center around Weber County election judges and supporters of Ogden Mayor Matthew Godfrey and suggest inappropriate voter challenges, denial of provisional ballots, voter intimidation and electioneering by Godfrey supporters. McCleary says the ACLU wants to get to the bottom of the complaints.
"Our hope is to make sure that election processes are above board and don't violate the Constitution as is implicated by these complaints," adds McCleary.
McCleary says it's too early to tell if the election will be challenged. Efforts to contact Mayor Godfrey for this story were unsuccessful.

Let it rest. Being a sore loser does nothing but degrade to process even more. Bringing in the liberal ACLU to determine the fight between two know republicans in a nonpartisan race is like asking Satan to judge a poularity contest between osama and sadam.
