City planning commission takes public comment on massive development
Thirty thousand new sustainable and environmentally friendly homes are in the planning stage for Salt Lake City. Last night, the city planning division showed off their proposed master plans for the northwest quadrant - the last major undeveloped area inside city limits. Senior city planner Everett Joyce says the 19,000 acres west of 4000 West may represent the city's last chance to seriously expand the city's residential housing stock. Environmental sustainability and transit are top priorities in the proposed plans. However, some land owners near the Great Salt Lake shores say the development could endanger the sensitive areas and wildlife near the lake. Before any development can take place, the final northwest quadrant master plan must be approved by the city council. Further public review is set to take place in the spring.

Wow, not one reference to where the public might review the proposed master plan, or a link to the city planning division, or a reference to how this story was found. Way to go, Edward R. Murrow-award winning NPR station! Nothing like hiding your sources!
