Bill Creating ID Theft Unit Draws Ire of Local Hispanic Activists
None by Eric Ray
(KCPW News) The Utah Attorney General's Office says as many as 300 thousand identities have been stolen in the state. A bill to create a Document Fraud-Identity Theft Unit within the AG's office, and support the hire of three new staff members, passed a House committee on Capitol Hill Friday.Currently just one attorney and two investigators work on the crimes.
The bill faces opposition from Hispanic activists. Tony Yapias of the Utah Latino Project says the bill assumes only undocumented immigrants steal personal information, like social security numbers. He adds if the Governor and the AG's office felt it was important to increase identity theft prosecution, it would have already been in the office's budget.
Substitute House Bill 95 appropriates $275,000 for the hire of three staffers for the ID Theft Unit. It now goes to the full House for consideration.

These details show that the government and banks have the option to reduce all fraud crimes to VIRTUALLY ZERO simply by implementing ID KEY system which will deter fraud crimes simply by making signature and PIN systems reliable and foolproof. How else will they deter fraudsters from misusing massive personal details already stolen?
Dear Sir/MadamOnce you have digested details in following report
you will agree that the government and banks should realise that they will not deter fraudsters from misusing our stolen personal and card details until they exploit ID KEY system described on website www.xwave.co.uk which will make both signature and PIN systems reliable and foolproof. It is obvious that fake ID documents have made signature system unreliable while skimmers, pin-hole cameras and micro contact sensors on key pads have made PIN system unreliable so until we make these systems reliable by implementing ID KEY system fraud crimes will continue to grow in every sector of the industry. It is simple logic that personalised signatures on agreements, cheques, money withdrawal notes, delivery notes, receipts etc. will deter identity fraud while the need to use proposed Card Key Code to activate PIN transactions will deter card fraud at ATMs and retail outlets. This shows that banks are boosting fraud crimes by relying on outdated signature and PIN systems to conclude their transactions.* Please help us to make the government and banks exploit ID KEY system before it is too late to stop a fraud boom because if they cannot stop fraudsters from obtaining our personal details than they should exploit proposed system to deter fraudsters from misusing these details. Looking at these details it is obvious that until proposed ID KEY system is exploited fraud crimes will just continue to grow.Thank you.RegardsYogesh Raja (Executive Director)
