Democrats Express Concerns About Task Force
(KCPW News) Republican representative David Clark's health system reform bill hasn't even been heard in committee yet, but is already the talk of Capitol Hill. Today, Clark discussed his plan to create a task force to reform the state health care system in front of the Democratic caucus. One of Clark's goals is Medicaid reform. He wants to create a transition program so that those who no longer qualify for Medicaid aren't immediately dropped.
Democrats questioned Representative Clark about the viability of a task force, saying there could be plenty of talk, but no action. Clark responded that the government agencies involved recognize the urgency of the situation and would only get one year to start turning things around.
Clark's bill is scheduled to be heard by the House Business and Labor committee tomorrow morning at eight. Clark says he expects complete system reform to take ten years to accomplish.
