Lawmakers May Ease Alcohol Restrictions for Event Holders

None by Eric Ray

(KCPW News) Organizations planning public events may soon find it easier to serve alcohol without bending state liquor laws. Current statute allows the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to give organizations up to four permits good for five days at a time. Under Senate Bill 165, event holders would have the choice of receiving 12 permits good for up to 72 hours. On Friday, the bill unanimously passed the Senate Business and Labor Standing Committee and goes to the full Senate.
