Actions of Registered Sex Offenders Targeted by Legislature
Feb 11, 2008 by Eric Ray
(KCPW News) Registered sex offenders in Utah could soon be charged with a class A misdemeanor if they ask a child under 14 to accompany them anywhere without written permission from that child's parent."We can just picture the parent of these children after a known registered sex offender, who has committed a crime against a child, approaches one of their children and tries to lure them in - really obvious predatory behavior - and then [the police] not being able to effect and help that parent feel safe about their children," says Juab County Sheriff Alden Orme.
Orme and others from the law enforcement community spoke to lawmakers today about tightening the current law. House Bill 161 unanimously passed the House Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Committee and now goes to the full House.

So it is ok for non-registered sex offenders to ask underage children to accompany them someplace? I think that is called kidnapping in most juristications. Nice posturing for the nazi politician who proposed this bill.
