Becker Hosts Breakfast for Wives of Utah Soldiers

Feb 15, 2008 by Eric Ray

(KCPW News) Valentine's Day has always been a day to celebrate and spend time with that special someone. However, many Utah Soldiers are away in Iraq fighting the war on terror and can't personally deliver a valentine. So, Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker stepped in and hosted a breakfast for the wives of Utah servicemen yesterday. KCPW's Eric Ray was there and filed this audio postcard.

I was so tickled to see what Mayor Becker did for the wives of the Utah soldiers. I know they all miss their husbands and that was very thoughtful of Mayor Becker to help them on a very lonely day for them. I was tickled to see my sister in law in the picture talking to Mayor Becker.  Her husband SGt. David Ray Rodgers is serving in Iraq. It brought a tear to my eye and a warm feeling to my heart. Thank you Mayor BeckerSincerely, Sylvia Rodgers Andersson
