Democrats Try to Bury Problems While McCain Discusses Policy Issues

Mar 27, 2008 by Jeff Robinson

(KCPW News) This week, we've seen that controversial remarks by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's pastor were not put to rest by his speech on race. We've also seen Hillary Clinton admit she "misspoke" about a trip she made to Bosnia in which she claimed she came under sniper fire, later disproved by video footage. Meanwhile, John McCain received media attention for his remarks on the economy and foreign policy, without having to battle anyone else for the Republican nomination.

Every week, we talk with Congressional Quarterly online editor Bob Benenson about the 2008 election. This week, he talked with KCPW's Jeff Robinson about a recent Gallup poll that suggests a fairly strong divide within the Democratic party, some of the problems the Democratic candidates wish they could bury, and McCain's recent press attention.
