Peace March and Rally Slated for Downtown SLC Saturday

(KCPW News) Activists opposing the war in Iraq are joining forces to hold a peace march and rally tomorrow afternoon in downtown Salt Lake City.Diana Lee Hirschi of Salt Lake Quakers says the money being spent on the war would be better spent on healthcare and the environment, and it's time to bring the troops home. The Quakers will be joined by the Wasatch Coalition for Peace and Justice, the Veterans Peace Coalition, and the Campus Committee for Peace and Justice, among others, in sponsoring the rally. Former Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson is among the scheduled speakers.
Tomorrow's rally will be held at the City Government Center, 451 South State Street, and begins at 1:00 p.m. Representatives from the Green Party of Utah will also be on with a petition to get Ralph Nader on the presidential ballot in Utah.
