Snipers and Bitterness in the Democratic Race

Apr 17, 2008 by Jeff Robinson

(KCPW News) Just as Hillary Clinton's campaign was hoping that the sniper fire gaffe was going to disappear, former President Bill Clinton added fuel to the flames by misstating how she made those comments while chastising the media. Meanwhile, Barack Obama is regretting how he phrased remarks about the quote "bitterness" of Pennsylvania blue-collar workers.

Every week, we talk with Congressional Quarterly online editor Bob Benenson about the election. Today, he tells KCPW's Jeff Robinson why Clinton's "sniper" problem is worse than Obama's "bitter" problem, and whether John McCain would be better off if popular conservative Republican figures are phased out of his campaign.

Voters go to the polls in Pennsylvania next Tuesday.
