Midday Utah begins after the 9 a.m. news
Today the Utah Rivers Council launches a new campaign called Tour Your Toilet to help you know how much water is used and wasted with every flush. I have two guests on the phone with me to talk about the details. Mark Danenhauer is the River Solutions Coordinator for the Utah Rivers Council, and Kyle Kisebach is an engineer with Salt Lake City-based Colvin Engineering Associates.
The Nature Conservancy launched this week the "Plant a Billion Trees" campaign to restore by 2015 Brazil's Atlantic Forest. Although more than 93 percent of the forest has been cleared to accommodate Brazil's rapid development, the remaining 7 percent of the lush forest contains one of the greatest repositories of biodiversity on Earth, according to TNC. Here to discuss the details of the effort is Dave Livermore, Utah State Director of The Nature Conservancy.
